TIME Function


Purpose of the Function

The Excel TIME function is a built-in function that allows you to create a time with individual hour, minute, and second components. The TIME function is useful when you want to assemble a proper time from individual hour, minute, and second

Syntax

=TIME (hour, minute, second)

  • hour : The hour component of the time value (ranging from 0 to 23).
  • minute : The minute component of the time value (ranging from 0 to 59).
  • second : The second component of the time value (ranging from 0 to 59).

Practical Example


Step -01 : Call TIME Function :

Select the Cell, Which You Want to Apply the Function and Write TIME Function =TIME in Selected Cell.



Step -02 : Enter TIME Arguments :

We need to Select the cell Which you want to Assemble Proper Time by using hour, minutes, second As Per mentioned order within the Brackets.



Step -03 : Hit The Enter Key :

After Entering the Function, We need hit The Enter Key, The Excel Assemble Proper Time From The Selected Cells.



Step -04 : Drag or Double Click in the Plus Sign (+) :

If You Drag Your mouse In the Bottom of Right Corner H2 Cell, You Are Able To See Plus Sign (+), If you Double Click in The Plus Sign (+) The Excel Automatically Assemble Proper Time OR Click On Plus Sign (+) And Drag Up to Last Cel.



The TIME function is particularly useful when you need to construct time values for calculations, comparisons, or when combining with dates to form complete date and time values in Excel.
