COUNTIF Function


Purpose of the Function

The Excel COUNTIF Function, It Is Use for Count the Number of Cells That Meet A Criterion.

Syntax

=COUNTIF (range, criteria)

  • range: The range of cells that you want to evaluate against the given criteria.
  • criteria: The condition or criteria used to determine which cells to count.

Practical Example


Step -01 : Call COUNTIF Function :

Select The Cell, Which You Want to Apply The Function And Write COUNTIF Function =COUNTIF In Selected Cell.



Step -02 : Enter COUNTIF Arguments :

We need to select The Cells Which We Want to Returns the Count with single condition. Here is More than 90 Student Mark in the MARK1 therefore, we have to select the range From B2 to B10 Cells with in the Brackets.



Step -03 : Hit The Enter Key :

After Entering the Function, we need hit The Enter Key, The Excel Retrieve the Count Value Which We Selected Cells or Range. In this Example One Values are More than 90
